The TalonP Carbine is the result of a collaboration between Airgun Depot and AirForce Airguns. Our vision behind it was to have a compact and lightweight carbine that could be taken down for transport or storage but still have the performance and features of a full-size rifle.
This remarkable carbine produces more energy with its 12″ barrel than most.25 caliber rifles do with a full-length barrel! And the accuracy isn’t lacking either. With the red dot, we were able to put 5 shots in just over half an inch at 50 yards, and, with a scope, we put 5 under an inch and a half at 100 yards! The Texan from AirForce Airguns has been at the forefront of the big bore airgun world’since its release in 2015. Almost since then AirForce has been at work to bring us a suppressed version of the venerable Texan to give the platform just that much more of an edge as the premium option for big bore hunting air rifles.
The Texan SS retains the same solid extruded aluminum frame, the same side lever action, and trigger as the original Texan. You will also find the same 490cc on board air tank and 2 stage trigger. The only major differences feature wise are the Texan SS has a shorter barrel and of course, Air Force’s proven sound suppression technology. While this shorter barrel comes at the sacrifice of some power over the un-shrouded version, the ability to shoot such a large caliber round at near silence makes up for it.
The Texan SS is still plenty powerful for hunting up to deer sized game and does it at just a whisper. If you are looking for the ultimate big bore game rifle, the Texan SS is it. Thanks to the folding stock, it can be folded down to 530mm, which makes this rifle very easy to transport.
This version is equipped with a cylinder with a fill pressure of 300 bar.
In the heart of the rifle is a regulator that lowers this pressure so that the Katran uses the same pressure for every shot. Combined with the high-quality barrel, the result is a powerful and very accurate compressed air rifle.
Around the barrel is a shroud that protects it.
A small silencer is incorporated in the end of this jacket, which can be expanded with an extra silencer using 1/2UNF threads.
The Katran C is a very ergonomic rifle thanks to the great adjustability:
